How the Calendar Works

How the Calendar Works
In the game, the months of the year are similar in name and equivalent in the amount of time to a month in our world's time. As a result, one month our time is one month in game, but we do allow some flexibility in order to ensure that the sequence of events move both realistically and smoothly. In terms of the year, unfortunately the year cannot be changed on the sidebar but in-game it is the year of 1714.
On Backwinded, it is required that you mark what date your post occurs through both timestamping the thread in the description and putting it into the calendar. The main purpose of the calendar is to see when a thread occurs (and it can always be changed to accomodate).
The calendar can be accessed either through the navigation bar above or the sidebar to the left. But to add your thread to the calendar, you must follow the following steps:
Don't worry if you forget to add your thread into the calendar or to include a timestamp, an administrator will send you a friendly reminder.
If you have set your timezone to UTC -6:00, -7:00, -8:00, -9:00, or -10:00 then it will shift the days back one. For example, an event which occurs on the fifth will occur on the fourth.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff.

The calendar can be accessed either through the navigation bar above or the sidebar to the left. But to add your thread to the calendar, you must follow the following steps:
- Firstly, you should timestamp your thread. When creating a thread, you can either timestamp it by including the date in the description or by adding it to the top of the post bolded.
- Now, to include your thread in the calendar, you must be the creator of the thread (otherwise you cannot add it into the calendar).
- When posting your thread, if you scroll down underneath "preview" and "sent", you will see the calendar settings. Set those up to the proper date and it will be added to the calendar once you post your thread. Adding the calendar date to your thread is mandatory! If unsure, you can always put a date then go back and edit it later.
- Upon posting, one can see what date a thread occured and thus can keep track of where their character was in order for some realism and organisation. This will also help with major site events and the advancements of plotting.
